WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PRINCIPLES

As Vestel Group of Companies, we adopt the understanding of the equality of women and men in every field and support all activities related with the empowerment of women in the social, business and economic life. We believe that innovative ideas come to light by cooperation of intelligence and talents of individuals and we reinforce our institutional policies with practices that promote gender equality.

We see Women’s Empowerment Principles of United Nations, of which we are pleased to be a party, as an indication of our commitment to the empowerment of women in all sectors and at all levels in the economic life. Women’s Empowerment Principles established in cooperation with the UN Global Compact and UN Women in 2010 involve the following headings:

  • Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality,
  • Treat all women and men fairly at work, respect and support human rights and non-discrimination,
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all female and male employees,
  • Promote education, training and professional development for women,
  • Adopt enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women,
  • Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy,
  • Measure and publicly report the progress to achieve gender equality.
