Quality studies, which started at Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ (“Vestel Elektronik”) in the 1980s, were gathered under the Total Quality umbrella after the 1990s, and were over time improved with the following implementations:

  • Supplier Chain Management (“SCM”).

Quality studies, which commenced at Vestel Beyaz Eşya Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ (“Vestel Beyaz Eşya”) since its foundation, continue with the following practices:

  • Quality, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, Information Security and Energy Management Systems,
  • Total Productive Maintenance,
  • Operational Excellence,
  • Lean Manufacturing Methods.

Vestel Elektronik and Vestel Beyaz Eşya, which follow the latest developments and improve their systems and processes continuously; are becoming more influential in the international arena with the prizes they win in their Total Quality journey, as pioneer companies in their sectors both domestically and internationally.

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Awards

The Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) Excellence Awards is held every year to award companies that best implement the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices. In this context, Vestel Elektronik was deemed worthy of the “TPM Excellence Award” in 2012 and the “Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment” in 2014. In addition, the Company successfully passed the evaluations in the TPM Special Award category and became the first TV producer to receive the “Special Award for TPM Achievement” in television production in 2016. Vestel Elektronik was awarded the “Advanced Special Award for TPM Achievement” in 2018. In 2020, the Company received the “World Class Manufacturing” Award, the highest award category of TPM. With this success, Vestel Elektronik has become the first and only company in the world to receive this prestigious award in the consumer electronics industry with its simultaneous work at six different factories.

Vestel Beyaz Eşya was awarded the JPIM “TPM Excellence Award” in 2014, and the “Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM” in 2017, for the successful work it had been carrying out since 2011. It was also deemed worthy of the “Special Award for TPM Achievement” in 2019. Vestel Beyaz Eşya was the first and only company in its sector in the world to receive this award with seven different product families (refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, cooking appliances, air conditioners, water heaters, tumble dryers) at seven different factories.

Turkey’s First Brand in the National Geographic “Mega Factories” Documentary Series

Officially opened in 2003, Vestel City is one of Europe’s largest industrial complexes operating in a single location. Vestel’s mega factory, Vestel City was featured in the “Mega Factories” documentary series on the National Geographic Channel. Vestel was the world’s first electronics and household appliances company and Turkey’s first brand and industrial facility to appear in the documentary series, which features the world’s most famous brands.

2016 European Industrial Excellence Award

Vestel Beyaz Eşya, which became the champion of Turkey in the 2016 Industrial Excellence Award competition organized jointly by Koç University, the WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management, INSEAD and other leading European business schools in July 2016, qualified to represent our country in the finals in Europe. Vestel Beyaz Eşya was recognized for its industrial excellence with the “European Championship”, which it won in October 2016, by outclassing its competitors, which rank among the world’s giants in their respective sectors. Vestel Beyaz Eşya earned the title of being the first champion in the household appliances sector as well as being the first Turkish company to have won this award.

Stars of Technology Awards

Vestel Elektronik continues to operate in accordance with its energy consumption targets and applies the same environmental sensitivity in its production processes as it does to its products. In addition to implementing process improvements to achieve these targets, new technologies are adopted where appropriate. Within the scope of its corporate environmental practices, Vestel Elektronik received the Technology and Innovation Star Award in 2017 for its “Nano Spray Chrome Plating System,” which is used in the production of smartphones and televisions, in the “Turkey’s Stars” category at the Technology Stars Awards, which was organized by Yıldız Teknopark for the second time.

Hazerfan Project Awards

Vestel Elektronik was awarded as the company to submit the highest number of patents and useful model applications between 2014 and 2018 in the Manisa province in the event organized by the Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Authority.

High Technology Award

The “High Technology Award” handed by the Izmir Institute of Technology, which recognizes innovation among industrial companies operating in the field of high technology, based on 33 criteria under the headings of research capacity, research quality, interaction and collaboration, was given to Vestel Beyaz Eşya in recognition of its extensive R&D studies conducted in 2018 and to Vestel Elektronik in the category of “Most Successful Large Scale Companies” in 2019

Productivity Project Awards

Vestel Elektronik was handed the Incentive Award in the “Large-Scale Enterprise Sustainable Production” category in 2018 and in the “Large Enterprise Process Improvement” category in 2019 at the Productivity Project Awards organized by the Efficiency General Directorate of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey.

In the same event, Vestel Beyaz Eşya also won First Prize in the “Large-Scale Enterprise R&D” category with its “Refrigerator Cooling Technology Change Process” study in 2018.

Energy Efficiency Awards

Vestel Beyaz Eşya’s “Next Generation Panel Condenser EKONF Refrigerator” project was awarded the “Grand Industry Award” by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources at the 2020 Energy Efficiency Awards, organized by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry.

CES Innovation Award

Vestel received the Innovation Award at CES, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show, with its refrigerators which feature VacuumBag and FermentStore technologies. The CES Unveiled Awards, in which technologies belonging to hundreds of brands compete in 28 categories, were handed out in New York on 8 November 2018. Vestel’s award-winning products were also exhibited at the CES 2019 Trade Show in Las Vegas between 8 and 11 January 2019.

Technology Development Zones and R&D Centers Awards

Vestel Elektronik won the First Prize in the 7th Technology Development Zones and R&D Centers Awards given by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Vestel, which stood out in the evaluation of criteria such as personnel employment, R&D spending intensity, project capacity, cooperation and interaction, commercialization and intellectual property competency conducted among the R&D centers, was found worthy of the first prize in the category which evaluated R&D centers employing 250 or more R&D personnel.

Top Talent – Top 100 – Talent Program 2020 Most Admired Talent Programs of the Year Award

Vestel Human Resources received this award for its Management Training (MT) Recruitment Program, which Vestel calls Generation V.

Istanbul Technical University Employer of the Year for the Most Internships

Vestel Human Resources received the “The Employer of the Year Offering the Most Internships” Award, which is given every year at the ITU Career Summit.

Kincentric Best Workplace of the Year Award

Vestel Customer Services was recognized as “Turkey’s Best Workplace” by Kincentric, one of the world’s leading human resources and management consultancy companies.

Sustainability Business Awards

Vestel Customer Services received the grand prize for its “Unleash the Ideas” project in the “Employee Participation” category at the Sustainable Business Awards in 2019. In 2020, it was one of the finalists in the “Cooperation” category for the “My Voice Heritage” project and in the “Women’s Empowerment” category for the “Woman Technicians” project.
