Quality studies, which started at Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ (“Vestel Elektronik”) in the 1980s, were gathered under the Total Quality umbrella after the 1990s, and were over time improved with the following implementations;

Quality studies, which commenced at Vestel Beyaz Eşya Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ (“Vestel Beyaz Eşya”) since its foundation, continue with the following practices;

Vestel Elektronik and Vestel Beyaz Eşya, which follow the latest developments and improve their systems and processes continuously; are becoming more influential in the international arena with the prizes they win in their Total Quality journey, as pioneer companies in their sectors both domestically and internationally.

Two Excellence Awards for Vestel City from Japan

Vestel Elektronik received the “TPM Excellence Award” and the “TPM Continuity Award” from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) in 2013 and 2014. Vestel was also the first TV manufacturer to win the “TPM Special Award” in television production in February 2017. Initiating studies for the “Advanced Special Award for TPM Achievement” in 2017, Vestel Elektronik completed its work to receive the award in 2018, and successfully passed the assessment. According to the official announcement made in January 2019, the Company was handed the “Advanced Special Award for TPM Achievement”.

Proving its place among technology companies worldwide with numerous awards, Vestel Elektronik has been implementing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices since 2010.

Achieving synergy by combining TPM activities with Vestel culture, Vestel Elektronik, which earlier won the “Award for TPM Excellence” and the “Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment”, has further proved its success by winning the “Special Award for TPM Achievement” and “Advanced Special Award for TPM Achievement”.

Vestel Beyaz Eşya received another award from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) in 2017 in recognition of its successful TPM efforts undertaken since 2011 at its refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioner-water heater and cooking appliances plants. Vestel Beyaz Eşya was awarded the “Award for TPM Excellence” in 2014 and the “Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment” in 2017 by further improving its processes. Vestel Beyaz Eşya is the world's first and only company in the white goods industry to receive this award with six separate production facilities.

CIPS Certificate

Vestel Elektronik and Vestel Beyaz Eşya were both awarded CIPS Certification (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply), a corporate procurement certificate held by only 127 companies in the world, in 2015. Vestel’s purchasing teams were assessed by CIPS on the basis of 110 different criteria under 5 main headings that include “Leadership and Organization”, “Strategy”, “People”, “Processes and Systems” and “Performance Management” during a six-month evaluation process. With the CIPS Certificate, Vestel has certified that it has achieved international standards in its procurement practices and manages its purchases in a consistent, transparent and effective manner. Vestel Elektronik and its white goods subsidiary, Vestel Beyaz Eşya authored yet another first by simultaneously qualifying for the CIPS Corporate Certification.

Intellectual Property Award in 2015

Vestel Beyaz Eşya was the winner of the top prize in the Intellectual Property Competency category among all the R&D centers in the private sector at the 4th Private Sector R&D Centers Summit in 2015.

Turkey’s First Brand in the National Geographic “Mega Factories” Documentary Series

Officially opened in 2003, Vestel City is one of Europe’s largest industrial complexes manufacturing in a single location. Vestel’s mega factory, Vestel City was featured in the “Mega Factories” documentary series on the National Geographic Channel. Vestel was the world’s first electronics and household appliances company and Turkey’s first brand and industrial facility to appear in the documentary series, which features the world’s most famous brands.

2016 European Industrial Excellence Award

Vestel Beyaz Eşya, which became the champion of Turkey in the 2016 Industrial Excellence Award competition organized jointly by Koç University, the WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management, INSEAD and other leading European business schools in July 2016, qualified to represent our country in the finals in Europe. Vestel Beyaz Eşya was recognized for its industrial excellence with the European Championship, which it won in October 2016, by outclassing its competitors, which rank among the world’s giants in their respective sectors. Vestel Beyaz Eşya earned the title of being the first champion in the household appliances sector as well as being the first Turkish company to have won this award.

Stars of Technology Awards

Vestel Elektronik continues to operate in accordance with its energy consumption targets and applies the same environmental sensitivity in its production processes as it does to its products. In addition to implementing process improvements to achieve these targets, new technologies are adopted where appropriate. Within the scope of its corporate environmental practices, in 2017, Vestel Elektronik received the Technology and Innovation Star Award for its “Nano Spray Chrome Plating System,” which is used in the production of smartphones and televisions, in the “Turkey’s Stars” category at the Technology Stars Awards, which was organized by Yıldız Teknopark for the second time.

Productivity Project Awards

Vestel Elektronik was handed the Incentive Award with its Energy Conservation by Removing Wave Solder Process in the Electronic Chassis Production Plant Project in the “Large-Scale Enterprise Sustainable Production” category at the Productivity Project Awards organized by the Directorate General for Industry and Productivity of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey.

In the same event, Vestel Beyaz Eşya also won First Prize in the “Large-Scale Enterprise R&D” category with its “Refrigerator Cooling Technology Change Process” study.

CES Innovation Award

Vestel received the Innovation Award at CES, the world’s largest consumer electronics fair, with its refrigerators which feature VacuumBag and FermentStore technologies. The CES Unveiled Awards, in which technologies belonging to hundreds of brands compete in 28 categories, were handed out in New York on 8 November 2018. Vestel’s award-winning products were also exhibited at the CES 2019 Fair in Las Vegas between 8 and 11 January 2019.
